Dear Brother Knights and Friends, The Anchor Club is an order of Knights of Columbus members within the New York City Police Department which began on April 22, 1922. One of the keystones of the Knights of Columbus, as stated by its founder, Father Michael J McGivney, was to set up an elementary system of insurance so that the widows and children of fellow knights who might die would not find themselves in dire financial straits. The Anchor Club similarly provides a bedrock of charitable support for the widows and children of all deceased members of our great police department, which is the mission of our existence. Our charitable service is provided to the widows and children regardless of race, creed, ethnicity or religious affiliation. The
Charity that our fraternity provides to the widows and children
reveals itself in the form of events, which are annually
planned. The widows and children are cordially invited to
attend these events. Some of the events that our agenda
includes are but not limited to
The anchor is a symbol of strength and support. The Anchor Club, like an anchor, provides a foundation of strength to the widows and children of our fallen brother and sister officers. We proudly follow in the long tradition of charity started by the knights of Columbus. The Anchor Club extends our sincere appreciation to Past President Kevin Lyons for a job well done over the past two years. Great Job Kevin!!!!!!
